We Found Joan!
More taxes, no spending cuts, end term limits
Joan Buchanan (D-Missing) was again too busy to do the job she was elected to do: vote.
While significant legislation dealing with funding for public schools and taxes on working families came before the State Assembly, Buchanan (D-Elsewhere) was again absent from her responsibilities. But taxpayers will be glad to know that she only skipped unimportant votes like funding for classrooms, sales tax increases, and increased vehicle taxes.
Possibly taxpayers are fortunate that Buchanan (D-Astray) did abstain from these votes given her record and recent declaration for sustained tax increases. At a pancake breakfast meeting in Oakley last month, Buchanan (D-AWOL) announced to surprised residents that she believes California should extend last year’s historic tax hikes. Incidentally, California raised more in taxes last year than any state in the country and accounted for nearly half of the total tax increases nationwide. But Buchanan (D-Hooky), who declared last year that there’s “no-fat left to cut out of the budget,” thinks California taxpayers should pay more rather than her risk inconveniencing the Sacramento Special Interests that bankroll her political career.
Is this what Joan Buchanan thinks California needs to get our house back in order?
Sacramento needs change. The 15th District needs change.
