Note to Parents, From the Taxpayers
Re:  Assemblywoman Joan Buchanan’s Performance
Grade

While Joan has improved somewhat on her attendance record, she is still not “satisfactory.”  We are really concerned as nothing seems to get her to change her bad attitude towards taxpayers and her disregard for her responsibilities as our representative in the State Assembly.

In the last several weeks she has missed eight votes on the Floor of the Assembly: AB2613, AB2444, AB2078, AB2187, AB2240, AB2072, AB1706, and AB2514.

More troubling however is the report we received from noted political columnist and editorial writer, Contra Costa Times Columnist Daniel Borenstein.  Mr. Borenstein reports that Joan recently co-sponsored legislation that amounts to “a giveaway to [government] workers that would increase retirement benefits and shut off public access to records about the payments.”

Apparently, Joan was “unfamiliar with the details of the bill” and that the bill was “enabling more abuses of the system.”

With California is running a massive multi-billion dollar with huge giveaway pensions to government employees, we cannot understand why Joan would try to make it worse.

Unfortunately, Joan’s chamber only holds 80 people and we simply cannot afford to allow her behavior to continue to impact the rest of the Assemblymembers.  Therefore, we think San Ramon Mayor Abram Wilson, a proven leader with a record of balanced budgets and job creation replace Joan for next year’s session.

I’m sure you understand how important it is that we have people in Sacramento willing to make the tough decisions necessary to get our state back on track.  We simply cannot afford to let irresponsible behavior jeopardize the future of our children and grandchildren.
